1) Black Coffee

Black Coffee is a South African DJ and producer who started his career in the early 2000s and has since become a global star. He started his career in the music industry as a backup singer for the legendary South African band, Shana. Black Coffee is now a leading man and has become one of the most successful electronic artists from Africa. 

He has collaborated with artists such as David Guetta, Alicia Keys, and Usher. Some of his popular songs include “Drive,” “We Dance Again,” and “Superman.” ”Superman” blew up once again years after its original release many thanks to Drake sampling the song on his Views album. His song “Drive” featuring David Guetta and Delilah Montagu, released in 2021, has become one of his most popular tracks.

My favorite Black Coffee song: “Never Saw You Coming” (feat. Tsepo), 2015.  This is a classic Black Coffee mix that shows his flawless production style over a melodic South African rhythm.

2) Hot Since 82

Hot Since 82 is a British DJ and producer named Daley Padley. He started DJing at the age of 17 and released his debut album in 2013. Hot Since 82 specializes in deep and tech house and has helped drive forward the popularity of those genres. 

He founded the popular Knee Deep in Sound label and is dedicated to uplifting underground house music. He is a consistent showrunner on Ibiza festival stages. Some of his popular songs include “Buggin’,” “Restless,” and “Therapy.” Hot Since 82 is known for creating groovy deep house tracks that keep fans moving on sweaty dance floors across the globe.

My favorite Hot Since 82 song: “Veins”, 2015.  This haunting track slowly builds throughout the song, gradually taking the listener on a tech house journey. 

3) Kölsch

Kölsch is a Danish DJ and producer whose real name is Rune Reilly Kølsch. This artist might be a bit of a deep cut for casual EDM fans. He is known for his melodic and emotional approach to house music. Kölsch started his career as a hip-hop producer in the 1990s before transitioning to techno.

His track “Grey” released in 2016, is a beautiful and emotional track that showcases his signature sound. Some of his other popular songs include “Grey,” “Goldfisch,” and “DerDieDas.”

My favorite Kolsch song: “Goldfisch” – Off the album, 1977. (2013).  The opening track on Kolsch’s 2013 full-length album. This pumping house track repeats its infectious melody and drum pattern that feels like a victory song after an epic battle.

4) Green Velvet

Green Velvet formerly known as Cajmere is the stage name of American DJ and producer Curtis Jones. He has been active in the music industry since the early 1990s and is considered one of the pioneers of Chicago house music. 

This eclectic individual has one of the most unique DJ styles. His music mixes an old-school industrial feel, vocal samples only Green Velvet could find, and future-forward influences for a sound that is truly his own. Some of his popular songs include “Flash,” “La La Land,” “Answering Machine” and of course the forever timeless, “Percolator”.

My favorite Green Velvet song: is “BARBEE”, 2020.

5) Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones is a British DJ and producer who is the founder of the label Hot Creations. He is known for his innovative approach to house music and has won several awards for his work. Aside from being a super fun and fresh DJ, he has pioneered awesome events, most notably his Paradise series in Los Angeles, Ibiza, Miami, and other party cities. Some of his popular songs include “Summertime,” “Paradise,” and “Hungry for the Power.”

My favorite Jamie Jones song: “Bappi” (Jamie Jones & The Martinez Brothers), 2019.  Jamies Jones and The Martinez Brothers link up to deliver a crazy house dope track.

6) Tchami

Tchami is a French DJ and producer, known for his unique blend of house, future house, and bass music. He started as a sound engineer before launching his DJ career in 2013. The tech house DJ often mixes harder industrial sounds of techno with more melodic house groovers.  Some of his popular tracks include Adieu”, “Promesses”, and “After Life”.

My favorite Tchami song: “Go Deep Remix.”  Tchami’s remix of Janet Jackson’s hit song, “Go Deep”, exploded in the earlier days of his career helping launch him to the top of the genre.

7) Carl Cox

Carl Cox is a British DJ and producer, who has been active in the music industry for over three decades. He is known for his energetic DJ sets and his love for techno, house, and electronic dance music. Carl is an ambassador for the entire Electronic music industry and a loveable character that all music fans can support. Some of his popular tracks include “I Want You (Forever)”, “The Player”, and “Phoebus Apollo”.

My favorite Carl Cox song: “Speed Trial On Acid” – Electric Generations, 2022.  Carl Cox is still putting out industry-leading tracks well into his career as a producer and DJ. 

8) Kaytranada

Kaytranada is a Haitian-Canadian DJ and producer, known for his soulful and funky blend of house, hip-hop, and R&B. He won the Polaris Music Prize for his debut album 99.9% in 2016 and a Grammy for his 2019 follow-up album, BUBBA. Kaytranada is an internet music legend using Soundcloud and his epic viral Boiler Room video to amass an insanely loyal following. Kaytranada has truly brought the underground to the limelight.

My favorite Kaytranada song: “Taste (feat. VanJess)” – BUBBA, 2019If anything, this song had to tip the scales in the favor of Kaytranada for the Dance/ Electronic Album Grammy.

9) Mark Kinchen (MK)

Mark Kinchen, also known as MK, is an American DJ and producer, who has been active in the music industry since the 1990s. Hailing from Detroit, the mecca of American techno, MK has continued to push forward the culture and sound of the Motor City. 

He is known for his remixes of popular songs, including “Push the Feeling On” by Nightcrawlers and “My Head Is a Jungle” by Wankelmut. MK consistently pumps out upbeat and danceable house tracks for listeners to enjoy. Some of his popular tracks include “17”, “One Night”, and “Body 2 Body”.

My favorite Mark Kinchen song: “Piece of Me (feat Becky Hill), 2016.  This song featuring award-winning BRIT vocalist, Becky Hill is one of MK’s signature vocal house tracks.

10) The Martinez Brothers

The Martinez Brothers are a Bronx-born, Puerto-Rican DJ duo, composed of brothers Steve and Chris Martinez. They started DJing in their early teens and have since become known for their house, techno, and disco-inspired music. 

The duo performs all their sets B2B (back to back) and are effortlessly able to feed off of each other’s energy. Their brotherly sixth sense allows them to lay down track after track of seamless grooves. Some of their popular tracks include “H 2 Da Izzo”, “Mistakes”, and “Let It Go (TMB Alternate Version)”.

My favorite The Martinez Brothers song: “Easy On Me” – Rudimental, The Martinez Brothers. The Martinez Brothers link up with a common collaborator, Rudimental for a fun one.

This Brazilian DJ has exploded since debuting on the scene. He grew to prominence with popular remixes and collaborations with other rising artists. He continues to deliver fire sets, remixes, and original songs and has become a must-see at festivals. With a loyal following in Brazil and much of South and Central America. 12) Bob Sinclair

Bob Sinclair is a French DJ and music producer who has been active in the House music scene since the 1990s. He is a pioneer of the genre who has been DJing, producing, and performing across the globe for decades now. One of his most popular songs is “Love Generation,” which was a hit in many countries around the world. 

Another well-known song by Bob Sinclair is “World, Hold On,” which features lyrics about global unity and peace. Some other fun songs by Bob Sinclair include “Rock This Party,” “Everybody Dance Now,” and “Rainbow of Love.”

My favorite Bob Sinclair song: “World, Hold On (Children of the Sky)”, 2006.  One of Bob Sinclar’s early classics that will stand the test of time. As the world seems to grow more chaotic, this house track becomes more and more relevant.

13) Disclosure

Disclosure is an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. They gained fame in the early 2010s with their debut album “Settle,” which included hit songs like “Latch” and “White Noise.” Disclosure has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Sam Smith, Lorde, and Khalid. 

Their live sets and DJ performances often feature live drums and instruments adding an extra layer of complexity to their music. Some other fun songs by Disclosure include “Magnets,” “Omen,” and “Holding On.” Disclosure has grown to become one of the most popular house groups in the world.

My favorite Disclosure song: “Voices” – Settle, 2013.  Disclosure’s 2013 album, Settle has several smash hits most notably “Latch” and “White Noise”. Voices is another notable song that just as easily could have been a hit radio single.

14) Catz ‘n Dogz

Catz ‘n Dogz is a Polish DJ and music production duo consisting of Grzegorz Demiańczuk and Wojciech Tarańczuk. They are known for their eclectic and genre-defying style, which incorporates elements of house, techno, and other electronic music genres.

Catz ‘n Dogz have released numerous albums and EPs, including “Basic Colour Theory” and “Friendship.” Some fun songs by Catz ‘n Dogz include “Drop It,” “Rave History,” and “Nobody Cares.”

My favorite Catz ‘n Dogz song: “I Bought It All”, 2015.  Given the fact that concert and festival tickets often cause patrons to fork over large sums of money, a house track about going into insane credit card debt is pretty fitting.

15) Channel Tres

Channel Tres is an American singer, rapper, and music producer who is known for his deep, soulful voice and minimalist production style. He grew up in Compton, California, and was influenced by the city’s rich musical heritage. This artist is relatively new on the scene but is already making a strong name for himself. 

His performances are truly unique as Channel Tres not only leads the way as the main producer for his tracks but also as the lead vocalist and dancer on stage. Some of his most popular songs include “Controller,” “Topdown,” and “Jet Black.” 

My favorite Chanel Tres song: “Raw Power” – Black Moses, 2019.  As Channel Tres states on this track, “the weirdness is taking over”. This 2019 track off of his Black Moses EP was just a hint at the raw power of Channel Tres’ stardom. Keep an eye on this one.
