K-Pop Female Groups with 7 Members That Are Awesome

Here Are Our Picks for the Best K-Pop Female Groups with 7 Members!

Surprisingly, there are not many K-pop female groups with 7 members. In the industry, companies typically debut very small or very large female groups to draw in listeners. Small groups have the advantage of having fewer members to manage, while larger groups can reach different demographics easily with members who can appeal to them. Still, there are absolutely some notable K-pop bands with 7 members, and in this article, we’re going to highlight the ones that we think are the best of the best.

Best K-Pop Female Groups with 7 Members

Let’s begin with Billlie.

Billlie

What a wonderful world it is with Billlie in it! This seven-member group made up of Moon Sua, Suhyeon, Haram, Tsuki, Siyoon, Sheon, and Haruna is taking the industry by storm. Their innovative and unconventional music charms listeners around the world.

One song in particular that has captured the hearts of listeners is GingaMingaYo (The Strange World). GingaMingaYo’s maximalism in its music video visuals and music pushes the song to become a full-on experience transporting you to Billie’s “Strange World.” Its energy is intense and lively. The song will keep you coming back for more like with Billie’s most recent release Ring Ma Bell (What a Wonderful World).

In addition to their music, Billlie went viral in February 2022. This was when a fancam of the member Tsuki dancing to the song GingaMingaYo gained millions of views on TikTok and YouTube. This created a whole new wave of fans becoming Billlie lovers, intrigued with Billlie’s performance abilities. Then, Tsuki herself has become a K-pop favorite with engaging facial expressions when dancing. I’ve come to love her too with her sweet smile and playful demeanor.

Purple Kiss

What’s your favorite color? It’s sure to be purple once you hear about Purple Kiss!

With the oversaturation of cute and girl crush concepts, Purple Kiss brings in eternal Halloween with their songs Ponzona, Zombie, and Nerdy. Ponzona is intense and dark, a grand song that the members Park Ji-eun, Na Go-eun, Dosie, Ireh, Yuki, Chaein, and Swan debuted to proudly. Purple Kiss stood out in the K-pop industry automatically with this song, becoming masters of the dark and not being afraid to stray away from what’s popular to find their footing.

Moreover, their songs Zombie and Nerdy feature a lot of funk and fun in their production, making them perfect Halloween hits. Zombie is a rare horror concept in K-pop with plenty of zombies, bones, and brains (all fake of course). It is a personal favorite of mine because of its repetitive chorus. You think you’d get bored of the constant Zombie-bie-bie-bie-bie, but no! You can’t get enough of it once you are hooked.

The same holds true for Purple Kiss’ Nerdy where the members are unapologetically themselves in all their cute “nerdiness.” There’s plenty of Halloween in this song’s music video too with ghosts, witches, candles, and spider webs decorating the sets. The song isn’t creepy at all though, playing into Halloween with its strings and fast beat. Take a look at it today! Don’t miss out on this eternal Halloween celebration.

But if you need something a little less Halloween, I would recommend my favorite song Cast Pearls Before Swine. The title is weird (I know), but do not let the title deter you from listening. If anything, the title should intrigue you.

“To cast pearls before swine” is a phrase that essentially means offering goods of value to people that simply do not appreciate or care for them. Along with a trap production, this song has squeals and engaging sound effects on top of lyrics about recognizing your self worth after a break up.

Take a look at Purple Kiss today! Don’t miss out on their music.

GWSN

What on earth does GWSN mean? Well, in Korean GWSN is an abbreviation for the phrase Gongwon Sonyeo. This phrase means a place where all people can come together to heal and dream together.

And GWSN is that place with their healing songs. Their song BAZOOKA! is pure, unadulterated fun. The music video for BAZOOKA! will surely get you lost in bright lights and blasts of color. Then, another song of GWSN’s titled Puzzle Moon feels like a calm, serene night. The song’s steady beat and soft vocals make it just right as a late-night tune. GWSN’s music provides a space for listeners to be at peace.

The members Miya, Seokyoung, Seoryoung, Anne, Minju, Soso, and Lena are waiting for you to join their world! Don’t be shy and join now!

In fact, I am most at peace when I am listening to my favorite song from GWSN TOKTOK. This song’s satisfying snaps and pops overlay a calm electronic music track that can easily become an earworm. You can put on this song and not get bored of it even after the millionth listen. Join me in living this song because I could listen to TOKTOK for hours and that’s not an exaggeration.

Cherry Bullet

Get shot in the heart with the lovable K-pop group Cherry Bullet! This group has tons of snappy, upbeat songs for you to listen to today with the members Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Jiwon, Remi, Chaerin, and May.

Try out Cherry Bullet’s Q&A and Hands Up. These EDM songs are sure to get you out of your seat and dancing. Q&A is extra bubbly while Hands Up uses a sample of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s “Für Elise” to create a cool dance song with tough beats. The song’s familiar sound and fresh production will make you want to listen to it over and over again.

But if you want something a tad different, Cherry Bullet has that too. Their song Love So Sweet has become a K-pop fan favorite for its house genre encompassing a creepy, yet serene and sickly sweet feeling within its lyrics. The song is intoxicating, an unsettling Da Da Da Da making up the chorus to draw listeners in. Even in the music video, the song ends abruptly with all the members on the floor with their eyes closed. Love So Sweet is definitely an experience that you need in your life with the rest of Cherry Bullet’s music.

NMIXX

Mix things up with NMIXX! This group’s experimental music is a part of the K-pop industry’s larger experimental trend, creating songs that break conventions and write headlines.

Their debut song O.O caused a huge stir in the K-pop community for its abrupt verse and genre changes. These changes prompted seconds of silence between them in the song, leading listeners to think the song has ended. It would then continue into a more intense sound with overwhelming beats and sounds. Then, the seemingly nonsensical chorus confused many listeners upon first listen, and even with more listens the lyrics have no real sense to them. However, despite the controversy the members C.

In NMIXX’s less experimental songs like Tank and Dice, the overwhelming music continues. Their songs manage to provide a distinct experience with intense beats, one-liner lyrics, and structures that keep you guessing about what will happen next. The members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin always have something you’ve never heard of before up their sleeves. Want to explore it further? Check out their songs!

You won’t be able to guess my favorite song from NMIXX though! I love all things sickly sweet (like Love So Sweet by Cherry Bullet), so my favorite song from NMIXX follows that same love. NMIXX’s single Kiss is a remake of the song by the same title from the group Rainbow. Yet, NMIXX’s vocal performance and charming energy in the song instantly brightens my day. The members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin made a song that touches my heart every time I listen to it and I can not be thankful enough.

Cignature

Find a distinct, signature sound with Cignature! This seven-member group made up of Chaesolm, Jeewon, Seline, Chloe, Belle, Semi, and Dohee creates addicting pop hits you won’t be able to get enough of.

Their songs Nun Nu Nan Na and Boyfriend reflect their duality as a group. Nun Nu Nan Na is upbeat and energetic with bright colors and lights to keep you dancing all night long. You will be singing the chorus over and over again with its easy-to-remember beat. Meanwhile, Boyfriend is softer with hip-hop beats. This song feels like the gentle breeze created by an indoor fan, leaving you longing for an ex even if you know the breakup was needed.

My favorite song My Diary from Cignature hits the sweet spot in between upbeat and calming. The beats in the song build into explosive choruses with high notes. Yet, the verses are calm with minimal music production and only simple snaps and beats. The smooth transitions between each part of the song flow so well into each other that every listen feels effortless. My Diary does not demand anything from me when I listen. I just enjoy the journey.

With Cignature’s emotion and diverse music, you can feel a wide range of emotions all within one group’s discography. Enjoy yourself with some of their songs today!

Alice

Need something sweet and soft? Alice is right there for you! Alice, formerly known as Elris, is a seven-member group working against the trends in the K-pop industry. Instead of hard-hitting girl crush beats or experimental songs, Alice has become a vocal powerhouse.

EJ, Do-A, Chaejeong, Yeonje, Yukyung, Sohee, and Karin are growing into a strong reputation with their vocal single Power of Love. The members’ beautiful voices create moving harmonies over an orchestral track. Their voices are dynamic, effortlessly shifting from high to low notes. The song is not drab and boring in its somberness. Listeners feel the sincerity of the members as they sing, lyrics gliding off of a piano guiding them along.

Alice also has songs like Summer Dream and You and I for more softness. In my opinion, one of their best songs is Summer Dream. This song is absolutely magical. I can physically feel a summer breeze going through my hair whenever I listen to this song. There’s a classic feel to the song too even though it was released in 2018. I feel nostalgia, relaxation, and peace whenever I hear Summer Dream.

Your busy days, like mine, will be calming when you listen to Alice!

Dreamcatcher

Dream big with Dreamcatcher! This group was originally known as MINX. They had a cute concept, but their name and concept change into Dreamcatcher has earned them the title of “The face of rock in K-pop” by Rolling Stone India.

The members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon own the rock genre in K-pop, especially with their songs Scream, Boca, and Piri. Rock-out guitars dominate these songs, paying homage to the genre with each production. In K-pop, I have found the rock genre is usually applied within the industry instead of embodied. Dreamcatcher is a pleasant surprise within a typically-pop industry, taking up space in the industry to give rock fans a home.

In fact, Dreamcatcher has given me a home with my favorite song Black or White from their 1st Album Dystopia: The Tree of Language. The song has an engaging beat and its chorus beats at the same pace as my heart. Black or White keeps me in sync with the music. Then, as the music goes on and the lyrics build into the final chorus, I can feel the strength of the members’ vocals internally. Dreamcatcher has connected with me on a strong level emotionally.

Dreamcatcher’s got you covered when it comes to rock. Don’t hesitate to check out their discography.

CLASS:y

Stay classy with CLASS:y! The girls Won Ji-min, Kim Seon-you, Myung Hyung-seo, Hong Hye-ju, Kim Ri-won, Park Bo-eun, and Yoon Chae-won are bringing class to K-pop with a unique take on girl crush.

CLASS:y’s songs Classy and Shut Down are bringing music back to its roots. In these days of TikTok, many girl crush songs focus on a catchy chorus or cool verse. Yet, CLASS:y prioritizes the music over these soundbites, leading them to create filled songs with actual lyrics and flows. They do not have random English words or out-of-place phrases. They have cohesive songs that K-pop desperately needs more of.

That’s why their song Classy has become one of my favorites. Classy diverges from the trend, encompassing something timeless instead, especially with the fun chorus. During my day, there are times I catch myself humming the tune and bursting out into “Classy!” I can’t get enough of it.

You’ll be so classy with these girls! Listen to them soon.

Rainbow

Don’t you adore the rainbow? You’ll be hooked after hearing about this K-pop group. Many of the groups on this list only debuted recently, but Rainbow is a classic second-generation K-pop group. Their music has that signature sexy streak that is long lost in K-pop.

The members Woori, Seungah, Jaekyung, Noeul, Yoonhye, Jisook, and Hyunyoung bring in their cheeky sexiness and even cuteness in their songs A, Whoo, and Tell Me Tell Me. Rainbow has that Korean pop sound sewn into each of their songs, mixed in with hip-hop beats or bright bubblegum energy. A brings in the heat with sensual dance moves while Whoo keeps things light as the members wink and tease viewers in the music video. Meanwhile, Tell Me Tell Me is a 2013 K-pop classic with a simple pop beat and repetitive chorus that’ll have you singing it for days.

If you need something dreamy, airy, and light for your day though, be sure to check out my favorite song from Rainbow. This song is titled Aurora and its strings and piano form a heavenly combination. I adore songs where the chorus consists of all the members singing and harmonizing together. I think their harmonization shows off a strong connection between all the members that I could feel within me. Aurora is equally relaxing and touching to listen to because of that harmonization.

The rainbow has tons of colors and you’ll be sure to find different colors of music and performance with Rainbow. Their music is fitting for any nostalgia trip.

Conclusion

All of these K-pop female groups with 7 members bring or have brought something fresh to the industry. Their music is engaging and capable of retaining listeners. Their concepts are innovative and delightful. Moreover, the trends and viral videos produced by them have had long-lasting impacts as they intrigued people around the world. There’s always something new to enjoy with these groups! Look to them to fit every niche and reach every audience.
